VDS is a virtual server service that lets you run applications and services in your own operating system environment. Alongside hosting a website, it can be used for databases, APIs, internal business applications, or background tasks. A web hosting account limits you to the environment provided, whereas on a VDS you choose the software components your application needs. This makes server rental a common choice for projects that go beyond standard hosting.
Yaman Hosting's Türkiye VDS plans are hosted in Istanbul. Compare plans using Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 processors, DDR4 memory, and NVMe SSD storage in the table above. Knowing which software you will install, how many websites you will host, and your approximate data size makes the initial choice easier. If these details are not yet clear, tell us about your project and we can help you evaluate the plans.
Web hosting is often sufficient for a blog or business information website. VDS becomes more suitable when you need a custom application service, access to operating system settings, or a different server setup for your websites. For example, when a web application, database, and scheduled tasks must run together in the same environment, you may want to manage the installed software yourself.
Do not base a migration decision solely on visitor numbers. Your website's software, concurrent requests, and existing account limits also matter. Moving servers may not completely resolve slowdowns caused by unnecessary plugins. First, review your current usage, then compare web hosting with VDS in terms of management responsibilities. You will also need to allow time for server updates, security, and backups.
If most of your users are in Türkiye, hosting your server in Istanbul keeps your application geographically close to them. Connection latency affects the experience of logging in, using an admin panel, searching, and exchanging real-time data. Actual response times do not depend on distance alone, though: the internet provider, network route, application code, and database queries also affect the result.
If a large share of your visitors are abroad, compare the available locations together. We offer London for the UK and New York for North America. Consider where the other services your application connects to are hosted as well. An application in Türkiye that connects to a database on another continent for every request may face additional delays. Considering all your application's connections alongside your visitors is more useful when selecting a location.
Do not consider only your main application when calculating RAM requirements. The operating system, web server, database, and any control panel all use the same memory. A small website and an environment running several applications at once have different needs. The Türkiye VDS range offers 2–32 GB DDR4 RAM; combine the recommended requirements of your software when choosing a starting plan.
If you already have a server, measure consumption during the busiest hours. Backups, file imports, and batch jobs may temporarily need more memory. A choice based only on average usage may fall short at these times. Equally, not every slowdown is caused by RAM. To learn how to interpret resource usage, read our guide to choosing server RAM and share your measurements with our support team.
The vCPU figure in a plan indicates the CPU resources available to the virtual server. A higher vCPU count can help applications that run multiple tasks in parallel. Software working on a single process may not benefit to the same extent from additional resources. Evaluate the processor model together with the way your application works. Do not infer from the vCPU count that the entire physical processor is dedicated to you.
Türkiye VDS plans use Intel Xeon E5-2699 v4 infrastructure. When running multiple websites, application services, and databases, monitor their combined CPU consumption. If you expect a workload that continuously uses the CPU, describe it to us before ordering. For another processor-focused option, compare our AMD Ryzen VDS plans as well. Do not decide on the plan name or core count alone.
The operating system, application files, databases, and logs may share the same storage on your server. Calculating disk requirements from website file size alone is therefore insufficient. NVMe SSD storage in our Türkiye VDS plans is an important component for projects with intensive file access and database activity. Compare the allocated capacity alongside the storage type.
Leave free disk space for updates, temporary files, and growing data. A full disk can prevent applications from writing new records and interrupt updates. Backups stored in a folder on the server consume that same space and do not constitute an independent backup on their own. Controlling excessive log growth, monitoring storage usage, and keeping important data in a separate environment are part of everyday administration.
Choose your operating system according to the environment your application supports. Some software runs on Linux, while certain desktop or server applications require Windows. Before installation, identify the software version, required components, and any licensing needs. Available operating systems and paid options are shown at checkout; ask us if you need a particular version.
SSH can be used to access a Linux server, while Remote Desktop can manage a Windows server with the appropriate configuration. Although the access method differs, strong authentication and keeping track of updates matter on both systems. Monitor your operating system's support lifecycle. If you install a control panel, account for compatible versions and its own resource consumption; do not assume the panel license is automatically included in the plan price.
You can host multiple websites or applications on the same server. This requires configuring the web server, domains, databases, and access permissions. A control panel can simplify some tasks, but its resource requirements and license cost should be considered separately. Website count alone does not measure capacity: several low-traffic sites and a single database-intensive application may consume very different resources.
When consolidating websites in one environment, consider that a problem with one could affect the others. Separate application files and access permissions, schedule updates, and keep separate backups. Establishing management responsibilities upfront is especially important for websites belonging to different customers. Tracking CPU, RAM, and disk usage by website or service makes it easier to identify which application is driving increased consumption.
Türkiye VDS plans include L3 / L4 DDoS protection. This covers the network and transport layers; it does not replace application updates or careful server access configuration. Allow only the access needed for web panels, databases, and remote administration. Disable unused accounts, use unique passwords, and avoid shared administrator accounts wherever possible.
Regularly check which services on the server are exposed externally. If an application fails, inspect the relevant connection and service configuration instead of disabling the entire firewall. Logs can help establish when the problem began. Include the error message and affected service in your support ticket; do not share passwords, private keys, or customer data in open messages.
Design your backup schedule around which data changes and how often. A business information website may change infrequently, while an application accepting orders or member registrations may update constantly. Files and databases should be backed up together and represent a consistent point in time. Saving application files alone will not recover database records. You can ask separately about the coverage of the backup service you intend to use.
Keep a backup copy somewhere independent of the server and test restoration periodically. The existence of a backup file alone does not prove that its contents are complete and usable. Recording the recovery steps is also helpful. Verify your backup before reinstalling a server or changing its disk layout, as these operations may cause loss of existing data.
Begin a migration by listing files, databases, domains, email, and scheduled tasks. Also record the versions your application uses and its connections to external services. Install the required software on the new server and restore a test copy from backup. Do not stop at checking whether the website loads; test important actions individually, including login, form submissions, file uploads, and any ordering process.
Change DNS only after completing the checks. If your email service will stay where it is, preserve the mail records. Plan the final data transfer, as data may be written to both old and new servers during the transition. Do not shut down the old environment immediately; establish how you would roll back if necessary. For information about migration support, tell us about your application, data size, and control panel.
When comparing VDS prices, consider RAM, vCPU, storage, location, and additional licenses alongside the monthly charge. The table shows monthly plan prices; your total for the chosen billing period and additional services appears at checkout. Our annual VDS promotion lets you pay for 10 months and use the service for 12. After choosing a suitable plan, review the annual billing option during checkout.
As resource requirements grow, first identify the component that is slowing down. Insufficient RAM, heavy CPU usage, and a full disk require different solutions. Share your measurements and ask about upgrade options; find out beforehand whether the change requires reinstallation or migration. For a long-term project, budgeting for regular maintenance, licenses, and backups is more useful than choosing on the starting price alone.

No. Resource requirements depend on the website software, database, concurrent requests, and background tasks. We recommend choosing based on measured usage or by sharing your software requirements.
Our VPS category offers affordable shared-resource options. When comparing it with VDS, consider CPU, RAM, storage, and usage terms together. Plan names alone do not indicate an identical resource model.
The operating systems available for your plan and any license fees are shown at checkout. Contact us first if your application requires a specific version.
Yes. Point your domains to the new server to keep your current addresses. Test the websites before changing DNS, and preserve records for any email service hosted elsewhere.
No. L3 / L4 DDoS protection addresses network traffic. It does not restore deleted files or data changed by an application error. Important information needs a separate backup plan.
With annual VDS purchases, you can pay for 10 months and use the service for 12. Review the billing period and total, including your selected additional services, at checkout.
